Opening Up

A lot of people have a lot of questions about open marriage.

In order to avoid going into too much mind numbing detail, I will offer a simple analogy.

Children are born with an innate personality. It does not change throughout their lives, even though their values, opinions and attitudes do.

When a child has a very precious toy, or a special friend, they have different ideas about it depending on their personality.

The first child will feel possessive and jealous, never wanting to share his special toy. He will share toys that aren't important to him, but never the very important toys that are unique and expensive.

The second child won't mind letting you have a quick go, but won't be too pleased if you decide to loan it for a day.

The third child is not only happy to share, but she takes pleasure in knowing she is bringing you joy by sharing her precious toy. She will go out of her way to show you how great her toy is, and will be thrilled knowing you like it as much as she does.

Whichever child you are, you have to follow your true nature.
